Modelled on the rails you see outside Paris cafés and bistros, the Forme No. 1 Hanging Rail from Mi & Gei gives a kitchen wall somewhere useful to hang things. Matching brass hooks come with it — five on the small rail, seven on the large — so ladles, skimmers and your better pans can all stay within reach.
Two sizes are available. Every piece belongs to the Libre Forme series and gets sculpted by hand before casting in brass, which leaves the molded surface with a rough, hewn texture rather than a polished sheen.
Made in India. The studio leans on old-world techniques instead of industrial ones.
Solid, unlacquered brass, hand-cast in Mumbai. Since nothing is lacquered, the metal oxidizes and darkens over time. Expect marks from the casting process too: reflective patches sit beside matte ones on a speckled surface. The care guide explains how to look after it.
