Maha Alavi drew the Lithic Lounge Chair from prehistoric craft, stretching the plainest chair frame into something rounder and softer. The result sits low, with a solid oak frame and a generous upholstered cushion. Machined turns in the oak cradle that cushion and hold its shape.
Alavi works out of Toronto, and her industrial design leans on tight joinery and intuitive forms — the kind of fluid line you notice right away, then stop noticing because it feels natural.
