Smoked glass and brushed brass meet in the Échasse Vase from Audo Copenhagen, a drop-shaped vessel that sits on slender metal legs. Those legs are the whole idea: "échasse" is French for stilt, and designer Theresa Rand built the silhouette around that word. Three sizes are offered, plus a clear glass version of the smallest one with bronzed brass legs.
Fill it with flowers, or leave it empty on a sideboard. Either way the glass form seems to float above the surface, and the solid brass base keeps it steady. Made in Denmark.
